Corrib Oil to create 1,200 jobs in retail expansion

Corrib Oil is embarking on an expansion to 100 stores by 2030 through new sites and strategic acquisitions.

Mayo-founded Corrib Oil is embarking on an ambitious plan to more than double its nationwide store presence to 100 by 2030, creating 1,200 jobs across Ireland.

Following hot on the heels of a major franchise deal with restaurant chain Wendy’s, the expansion plan will see the delivery of at lest four new service stations this year.

“We care about the communities we serve, live and operate in. Through creating and supporting local jobs, we contribute to regional social and economic development”

The first of these stores, located on Model Farm Road in Cork, is set to open this month, creating 30 new jobs. Recruitment is already underway with a number of roles still available.

Born in the West, fuelling the rest

Corrib Oil, founded in Claremorris, Co Clare, in 1987 currently employs 1,150 people, and has 38 service station stores across 17 counties.

The Wendy’s partnership will bring 10 new quick-service restaurants to Ireland over the next two years, adding to Corrib’s growing retail and dining offerings. These sites will be a blend of standalone Wendy’s restaurants as well as new Wendy’s offerings at existing Corrib service station locations.

“We are excited to unveil this significant step in our ambitious expansion programme,” said Eugene Dalton, CEO, Corrib Oil.

“We have been growing our retail footprint over recent years, reflecting our firm focus on meeting the fuel, retail and service station needs of communities. This expansion programme fast-tracks that growth further.

“We are experiencing dynamic growth across multiple areas, including our new partnership with Wendy’s, significant progress in our energy division, and this ambition is reflected in our target of doubling our retail footprint in the coming years. These open up a wide array of career opportunities for current team members and people looking to be part of a dynamic, fast-growing, community-based business.

“We care about the communities we serve, live and operate in. Through creating and supporting local jobs, we contribute to regional social and economic development, and we continue to invest in the communities where we are embedded through our sponsorship and charity initiatives.

“As we scale up, we are looking to recruit talented, motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and developing their career with us. We are recruiting for a variety of roles, ranging from store management and retail positions to opportunities in operations, supply chain, logistics and head office support functions. Whether someone is just starting their career journey or seeking to develop their skills in a new area, we want to hear from you.”
