Bank of Ireland Corporate and Commercial is supporting GEM with debt funding in its development of a further 237 new homes at the Willows, Dunshaughlin, Co Meath. This follows hot on the heels of a 300-home development in Mulhuddart revealed earlier this year.
Established in 1978 GEM Construction, which employs more than 120 people, has more than 45 years’ experience in the construction sector with a proven track record in delivering high-quality, large-scale development projects across various sectors, including property development, contracting, and bespoke joinery.
Earlier this year, Bank of Ireland also committed to support GEM Construction Ltd with debt funding for the construction of 220 homes in Mulhuddart, Co Dublin.
“We are delighted to demonstrate our support for our house builder customers to deliver growth in housing across communities in Ireland, which is a key priority for Bank of Ireland”
“We are proud to work with Bank of Ireland on the Willows, a development that will bring over 1,100 quality homes to Dunshaughlin, significantly contributing to the Government’s Housing for All initiative and meeting the growing demand for both private and social housing,” said Vincent Fay, joint managing director of GEM.
“Our ongoing partnership with Bank of Ireland enables us to continue to build high quality energy efficient homes and create a sustainable community that positively impacts on the lives of residents at the Willows and the Greater Dunshaughlin Community.”
On completion GEM’s overall development at the Willows, Dunshaughlin, will result in the delivery of 1,100 high quality homes in Dunshaughlin, of which c. 10% are apportioned towards the provision of much needed Social Housing.
Sustainable housing
Nikki Canavan, head of Housing & Development Finance in Bank of Ireland’s Corporate & Commercial division, said: “I would like to thank GEM for the opportunity for Bank of Ireland to expand our strong relationship and support a further high-quality and sustainable residential scheme. We are delighted to demonstrate our support for our house builder customers to deliver growth in housing across communities in Ireland, which is a key priority for Bank of Ireland.”
She explained that the project aligns GEM and Bank of Ireland’s commitment to sustainability by committing to deliver environmentally responsible low-impact developments. Each unit will be constructed to a minimum BER A3 Rating.
The Bank is also currently supporting GEM with debt funding in their development of 220 units, including 180 affordable houses and 40 social houses, in Mulhuddart, Co Dublin, under development agreement with Fingal County Council.
