Kerry-founded AI start-up Graphite-Note raises €1.2m

Graphite-Note to target further international expansion in addition to creating 25 jobs in the Kerry region over the next two years.

Machine learning date analytics platform Graphite-Note has closed a seed investment round of €1.2m.

Graphite-Note looks to continue scaling a global business out of Kerry, and with this investment, the team hopes to create 25 local jobs over the next two years, in roles including operations, sales, marketing and technology.

“The journey we have embarked on since 2020 has been laser focused on one mission – providing businesses around the world with a tool that aids them to grow”

The round was led by Gerry Devitt, CEO of Harvest Financial, along with angel investors and Enterprise Ireland.

Graphite-Note said the investment will be used to achieve further global growth, in addition to expanding its team from its base at The RDI Hub, Killorglin.

A business growth engine

Founded in 2020 by Hrvoje Smolic, CEO, and Vinnie Lynch, CRO, Graphite Note is a no-code machine learning platform that gives businesses around the globe access to actionable insights via unique analytics.

Having bootstrapped to have a presence across five continents, Graphite Note is the European leader in the space, with clients including Fexco (PACE), Katana, and Escape Agency. Its subscription-based SaaS model allows business intelligence and data analytics teams to access predictive and prescriptive analytics in minutes, rather than months, helping customers strengthen their operational efficiency, fuel their growth and achieve their business goals.

“The journey we have embarked on since 2020 has been laser focused on one mission – providing businesses around the world with a tool that aids them to grow,” CEO Hrovje Smolic explained. With this injection, we further advance this goal, giving companies across the globe the accessible and actionable insights they require.

“While there is a sea of AI products and platforms on the market presently, we are proud to say Graphite Note is one that brings immediate, impactful and lasting results to the business intelligence and data analyst teams that utilise its capacities – we are looking to replicate the successes we have seen from our existing clients on a wider scale, and this investment ensures that we remain at the forefront of the AI revolution.”

Born out of Kerry’s co-working space, The RDI Hub, the company has historically bootstrapped itself, now having inbound generated customers across five continents – The US, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. This investment underscores the potential of regional tech companies, as they take the global stage.

Led by seasoned professionals within the data and SaaS industries, co-founders Hrvoje and Vinnie are leveraging their extensive experience in scaling ventures and first-hand knowledge of the issues currently facing businesses in relation to data science. Bridging the gap between expertise and access, the pair created an inclusive platform which harnesses highly sophisticated technology combined with a simplified, easy-to-use front-end.

“I saw first-hand just how labour intensive and expensive data science can be, during my tenure as a data scientist, and the issues this has historically caused for companies – our goal is to democratise data analytics to give businesses an immediate competitive advantage. This is the future of data,” added Smolic.
