ETL’s SME-focused accounting model is gaining momentum in Ireland.
A majority stake has been taken in Dublin business Guardian Management Accounting by growing business ETL Ireland.
Guardian is a provider of outsourced management accounting and CFO services to SMEs and multinational companies.
“We are now part of a multinational SME-focused organisation that shares our objectives in providing the best service possible to local and international clients”
As a result of the investment by ETL it will be able to provide financial management services to ETL Global clients located in Ireland.
This is the third direct investment made by ETL Ireland since launching in early 2023. This acquisition increases the ETL Ireland headcount to more than 70 staff based in Dublin and Waterford with further hiring planned as the group expands.
Brand identity
ETL Ireland has now invested in Noone Casey Chartered Accountants in Dublin, DMB Chartered Accountants in Waterford, and now Guardian Management Accounting also in Dublin.
Following investment in Guardian, ETL Ireland has now entered the Top 20 Accounting and Advisory firms in Ireland and has strong ambitions to grow to the Top 10. This growth will be organic and by the acquisition of other like-minded independent firms that are best in class in each sector or territory.
This investment will build on the momentum behind the ETL model in Ireland. Firms retain their brand, their identity and all that made them strong profitable independent firms in the first place.
“Guardian is the acknowledged market leader in Ireland in providing outsourced financial management and reporting services,” explained Anthony Casey, master partner at ETL Ireland.
“They sit very neatly in our portfolio of member firms and will add considerable value cross-selling services within the ETL family as we continue to grow.”
Guardian helps address the financial skills shortage that many SME companies face on a day to day basis by removing the requirement to staff these functions internally. Both rapidly growing and long standing companies outsource their financial management and reporting requirements to Guardian.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Guardian and all my team,” added Colum Whelan, managing director of Guardian Management Accounting.
“We are now part of a multinational SME-focused organisation that shares our objectives in providing the best service possible to local and international clients. We will continue to drive Guardian forward with support and assistance from ETL.”
