Hollybrook builds a bright future for Laois community

A new development by Hollybrook supported by Bank of Ireland will see the delivery of 112 high-quality homes, a neighbourhood centre and a creche for Sand Wood, Portlaoise.

Established in 1987 by Michael and Pauline Cox, Hollybrook is an experienced residential and commercial developer with a proven track record for completing complex, mixed-use developments including student accommodation, private and affordable homes in communities across Ireland and the UK.

A new deal with Hollybrook has allowed Bank of Ireland to play its part in supporting the delivery of quality housing whilst also continuing to support an existing experienced sponsor in Hollybrook Homes.

“We are delighted to demonstrate our support for our key house builders to deliver growth in housing across communities in Ireland, which is of strategic importance for Bank of Ireland”

On completion, development will result in the delivery of a total of 112 houses, a neighbourhood centre and a creche at Sand Wood, Portlaoise, Laois.

Building partnerships

“We appreciate Bank of Ireland’s continued partnership and support in helping us deliver much needed, high-quality housing in Portlaoise,” said David Cox, managing director of Hollybrook New Homes.

“We deeply value the flexible and constructive relationship we have built with Bank of Ireland, and look forward to partnering with them in future to build vibrant and sustainable communities.”

Supporting the supply of new homes on high quality ESG (Environmental, Sustainable and Governance) schemes is a strategic priority for the Group and this latest transaction has provided Bank of Ireland with an opportunity to deliver on this priority.

In addition, a portion of the completed scheme (20% of total units) will also be apportioned towards the provision of Part V Social/Affordable units.

John Feeney, CEO of Corporate and Commercial Banking at Bank of Ireland said the Bank has a strong relationship with the Hollybrook having provided development facilities since 2020 to part-finance over 300 residential units in six schemes in the Republic of Ireland as well as a portfolio of residential investment assets in London.

“I would like to thank Hollybrook for the opportunity for Bank of Ireland to continue our strong relationship and provide finance towards another of their high-quality residential schemes in Laois,” Feeney said.

“We are delighted to demonstrate our support for our key house builders to deliver growth in housing across communities in Ireland, which is of strategic importance for Bank of Ireland.”
