Mail Metrics scales further with acquisition of Dafil

Exponential growth of Mail Metrics has seen revenue increase from €1m to €40m in five years.

Fast-growing customer communications platform Mail Metrics has acquired paper-base communications player Dafil for an undisclosed sum.

The move cements Mail Metrics’ position as the market leader in Ireland.

“Jean Maher and the team at Dafil have built an incredible business with a strong reputation in the marketplace and we’re delighted to be welcoming them into the Mail Metrics Group”

Mail Metrics’ growth has been exponential, as evidenced by their revenue numbers which have gone from €1m in 2019, to a projected €40m by the end of 2023. This acquisition marks another significant milestone for Mail Metrics bringing their total number of employees from 110 up to 151, expanding their customer base of highly regulated companies.

In a recent interview with ThinkBusiness, Mail Metrics’ CEO Nick Keegan, a finalist in this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards, said he believed that the company could one day become a €1bn turnover business.

Transforming customer communications

“Jean Maher and the team at Dafil have built an incredible business with a strong reputation in the marketplace and we’re delighted to be welcoming them into the Mail Metrics Group,” said Mail Metrics’ CEO Nick Keegan.

“Dafil has a reputation for delivering high quality service consistently over four decades. We’re looking forward to working closely with our new colleagues as we seek to integrate the two businesses.”

Mail Metric’s moved to acquire Dafil due to their similar customer base and the opportunity to apply the Mail Metrics platform to support that customer base in transforming how they communicate and engage with their customers.

Having acquired Persona (Ireland) and Forth Communications (U.K.) in 2021, the acquisition of Dafil is another step towards Mail Metric’s ambition of becoming a leading international customer communications solution provider.

“To deliver the next chapter in Dafil’s journey and to allow me to move to the next phase in my life, Nick Keegan and the team at Mail Metrics will be taking over the reins at Dafil to lead the company through its next phase of growth,” Dafil CEO Jean Maher said.

“I will still have a presence and a role to play in the company over the coming months as we begin to integrate our two companies together. Dafil believe that by joining our two businesses together, both companies will benefit from the strengths and synergies available to develop a complete closed loop for customer communications.”
