Bank reveals increase in NYC Hub activity

Major increase in Bank of Ireland NYC Hub activity in 2024 as workspace remains a venue at the heart of the Irish-American business calendar.

Bank of Ireland’s customer and colleague workspace in New York – the NYC Hub – experienced a surge in activity for 2024 with a 56% increase in visitors and 36% more events during the year versus 2023.

In total, NYC Hub hosted 154 events last year and welcomed over 4,670 visitors, up from 113 events with 3,000 attendees in 2023.

“Next year will mark 50 years since Bank of Ireland established a presence in New York, supporting economic ties between Ireland and the United States”

NYC Hub is available to Bank of Ireland customers looking to expand into the United States, with over 40 businesses regularly operating from the facility.

Located at 2 Grand Central Tower in Manhattan, the Hub offers a flexible workspace with seven offices, three meeting rooms, a conference room, 20 hot desks, and an event space for up to 120 people.

Networking and innovation

The Hub is also a vibrant centre for networking and innovation, hosting a range of events each year. This included Digital Irish Startup Week and the European American Chamber of Commerce last year.

Bank of Ireland has maintained a presence in New York since 1976, with teams also located in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Stamford, supporting economic ties between Ireland and the United States.

The Bank’s Foreign Direct Investment team has assisted over 600 international companies in establishing operations in the Irish market while also strongly supporting Ireland-based companies that have business interests internationally.

“Next year will mark 50 years since Bank of Ireland established a presence in New York, supporting economic ties between Ireland and the United States,” said Myles O’Grady, Group CEO, Bank of Ireland.

“We are proud to play a part in our customers’ success as they expand into the US. Some great Irish businesses routinely use our Manhattan offices to take the next step in their growth journey.

“Our FDI team also assists international companies looking to do business in Europe, with Ireland being an attractive base for many ambitious companies.

“2024 has been a remarkable year for our NYC Hub, with a significant increase in usage and a series of high-profile events. We look forward to welcoming more businesses through its doors in the years ahead.”
