Irish innovation to make return to work safe for thousands

Reassurance.ie has merged antigen testing with digital technology to facilitate the safe return to work for thousands of employees in key industries and offices.

The company has developed a digital employer health platform combined with a multi-layered testing system which they believe will detect infectiousness immediately.  The test is highly sensitive and accurate with the result delivered within 15 minutes.

Under the intuitive and easy to use system, every individual tested will be given a unique QR code containing their recent health status. Individuals can then opt to share this status with their employer on a real-time dashboard, reducing administrative burden and increasing efficiency for the employer whilst proactively reducing risk in the workplace.

“The test is highly sensitive and accurate with the result delivered within 15 minutes”

Chris O’Grady, clinical pharmacist and director of Reassurance.ie said that the focus of the business is to enable both large and small employers to facilitate a safe and efficient return to work using a Covid Risk Management System.

“It can also be used in other sectors such as schools, healthcare, travel, live events and entertainment.

Digital platform

The test process itself has various levels of validation, which also means that the result can be supervised and verified simultaneously by a healthcare professional at any location.  The information is then uploaded on to a digital platform where it is available to the individual and their employer.

O’Grady says Reassurance.ie has created a safe environment to resume normal working activities through monitoring staff health status on one centralised GDPR-compliant platform.   It involves two Antigen tests per week for an employee which ensures early identification of the virus and limits early onward transmission.

This will enable large and small employers to facilitate a safe and efficient return to work.  It can also be used in other sectors such as schools, healthcare, travel, live events and entertainment.

Demand for the widespread introduction of antigen testing has been growing in recent weeks with medical and health experts along with politicians arguing for their use as a matter of urgency.  The Government has established an Expert Advisory Group to support and advise the public on the use of Antigen tests.

The Antigen tests used by Reassurance.ie are all EU approved and carry the CE mark.

“Reassurance.ie has developed a digital employer health platform combined with a multi-layered testing system which will facilitate a safe and efficient return to work through off-site identification and detection of the virus. The test is highly sensitive and accurate with the result delivered within 15 minutes.

Powering through pandemic

Reassurance.ie established testing centres to help detect and reduce the spread of Covid-19. It was set up by three pharmacists, Chris O’Grady, James Cloney and Aidan Kelly of Duelchem Ltd, a long-established supplier of pharmaceutical products to the Irish healthcare sector.

It was the introduction to Simon Osman, CEO of Tested.me who made a compelling argument for incorporating a powerful technology application in support of mass testing that encouraged development in this direction.

O’Grady said the entrepreneurial journey has been educational.

“Based on our experience the Irish start-up ecosystem gives invaluable support to launching a new business and it’s no surprise that so many multinational companies choose Ireland as their strategic base,” O’Grady said.

“The biggest lesson so far is managing expectations, start-ups require a lot of personal energy and determination up front.

“It really does help if you have a great product … which thankfully we do!”
