Naas business VEI Global to create 20 jobs in €2m investment

VEI Global provides managed service solutions to multi-site organisations including South Dublin County Council, BT, Vodafone, the European Parliament and Computacenter.

Naas-based comms connectivity specialist VEI Global is to create 20 new engineering jobs.

The roles will be funded by a combined investment from the company and Enterprise Ireland, amounting to €2m.

“By providing organisations with turnkey solutions that can transform the performance of their business, we anticipate continued business growth at home and internationally”

VEI Global’s new jobs come on the back of continued growth for the company, with recent success spurred by strong customer growth in the US and Europe. This is combined with a rising global requirement for multi-site connectivity, which acts as an enabler of technologies including automation, internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI).

Making global connections

“Piecemeal connectivity solutions are no longer working for multi-site, multinational organisations,” said Lloyd O’Rourke, co-CEO of VEI Global. “They require seamless and streamlined Wi-Fi solutions that will ensure they are maximising the benefits of the technologies that they are adopting. Additionally, organisations must ensure that they are not exposing themselves to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity attacks, which can thrive on unsophisticated Wi-Fi networks.”

From its headquarters in Naas, Co. Kildare, VEI Global coordinates and delivers complex multi-site IT and telecoms projects across locations spanning Europe and the US.

It works with high-profile customers on the island of Ireland such as South Dublin County Council, BT, Vodafone, Phoenix Gas, Keelings, and Lynas Foodservice, while international clients include the European Parliament and Computacenter.

VEI Global was founded in 2010 by co-CEOs Lloyd O’Rourke and Conor Killeen. Since its establishment, the company has grown its team to 40, while revenues have continually increased by an average of 22% year-on-year.

Conor Killeen, co-CEO, VEI Global, added: “At VEI Global, we have been at the forefront of responding to these needs and the expansion of our team will ensure we maintain our position as a global leader in the network connectivity space. By providing organisations with turnkey solutions that can transform the performance of their business, we anticipate continued business growth at home and internationally.”

The business credits recent growth to greater market penetration in the US and Europe, working with direct customers, many of whom have bases on both continents.

It has also capitalised on the rapid digital transformation of sectors including education – including schools and universities – manufacturing, residential property, construction and retail. Typically operating across multiple sites or large campuses, these sectors are adopting technologies that require resilient, reliable Wi-Fi and connectivity solutions. By enabling 99.99% uptime for organisations, VEI Global is meeting these needs both domestically and internationally.

“Enterprise Ireland is committed to supporting Irish companies to grow and scale, and to achieve their global ambition,” said Enterprise Ireland CEO Leo Clancy.

“Companies we work with are economic cornerstones in communities around the country, contributing greatly to national prosperity.  VEI Global is an example of that, and their success is built on their innovative solutions, their ability to identify growth opportunities and their cutting-edge transformative services.”
