Workvivo to create 100 jobs in Cork at flagship Zoom hub

More than a year post-Zoom acquisition, Workvivo’s employee experience platform is engaging employees in organizations all over the world.

Cork-born employee experience platform Workvivo plans to create 100 new jobs over the next three years with support from IDA Ireland.

The business was acquired last year by video conferencing giant Zoom for an undisclosed sum.

“It was so important to us that our new engagement hub would stay true to our DNA, while also setting us up for the next phase in our scaling journey as part of Zoom”

Cork, Workvivo’s founding city, will be home to Zoom’s first major hub in Ireland.

Workvivo’s employee experience platform simplifies communication and boosts engagement.

It was founded in Cork in 2017 by John Goulding and Joe Lennon.

The business has grown rapidly and is empowering some of the world’s biggest brands like Dollar General, Ryanair, Amazon, Bupa, and the Virgin Group to engage and connect their people – no matter whether they work in the office or on the front lines.

Earlier this year, Workvivo was named the only preferred migration partner by Meta as it retired its employee communications platform, Workplace.

The new roles will be hired over the next three years and will primarily be product and engineering positions to invest in research and innovation.

State-of-the-art engagement hub

The new hub features more than 40 work points for in-person and remote working as well as three working zones that offer different sensory environments for work styles: the Community Zone, Hybrid Collaboration Zone, and the Focus Zone.

It also features five Zoom Rooms for hybrid meetings and a Virtual Kiosk to allow office managers to manage the office remotely from anywhere

“It was so important to us that our new engagement hub would stay true to our DNA, while also setting us up for the next phase in our scaling journey as part of Zoom,” said co-founder John Goulding.

“We’ve been so fortunate to have hired truly world-class talent over the last few years in Ireland. Now, with the incredible support of the IDA, we’re excited to welcome more people into the Workvivo by Zoom team.

“The employee experience market is growing and evolving quickly and we have ambitious plans to grow and expand our product to create new features that help our customers to improve employee engagement, culture, and communications.”

The state-of-the-art engagement hub follows the blueprint of Zoom’s other hubs around the globe, marking a shift from traditional office spaces towards a technology-first experiential working hub designed for hybrid working.

Fully integrated with Zoom’s technology, the engagement hub will allow employees to collaborate easily, whether in person or hybrid.

IDA Ireland executive director Mary Buckley said: “Zoom’s decision to establish its first major hub in Cork is terrific news for the Southwest region and indeed the whole of Ireland. Zoom is attracted by the wealth of skilled and diverse talent across the region to support their research and innovation focus. I’d like to wish Zoom every success with this expansion.”

“Workvivo by Zoom is a commendable success story,” said the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke, TD. “The recent acquisition by Zoom has allowed Workvivo to significantly grow their innovative employee engagement platform, while keeping true to their own identity.

“I’m thrilled to hear that Cork City has been chosen as their flagship Irish hub, underscoring both the Irish Government and IDA’s commitment to regional investment. The creation of 100 jobs in the city is very welcome and will provide exciting opportunities for our skilled tech workforce.”
